6th SEU-R&S RF Microwave Circuit Design Contest in China

Mar 07. 2016

200 groups of students from different universities in the Nanjing area participated in the 2015 SEU-R&S RF Microwave Circuit Design Contest in China. The contest is jointly created by Southeast University (SEU) and Rohde & Schwarz since 2009. In the past six years, more than 1000 students from different universities and institutes in Nanjing area attended the contest. The challenge for the student teams is to design and build components or systems by using R&S signal generators, vector network analyzers and spectrum analyzers to finish accurate measurement.

In 2015, 4 groups were awarded with the first prize in the competition. The prize was presented by Mr. Christian Leicher, President & COO of Rohde & Schwarz, Mr. Pu Yuepu, Vice-President of Southeast University, Prof. Ke Wu Canada Research Chair in RF and Millimeter-Wave Engineering, Ecole Polytechnique (University of Montreal) MTT Chair of 2016 and Prof. Wei Hong, Dean of School of Information Science and Engineering. The four winning teams were working on the subjects broadband low noise amplifier, down conversion mixer, microstrip bandpass filter and microstrip patch antenna.

Additionally, Rohde & Schwarz, as one of the platinum sponsors of the Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference 2015, also held a seminar on complex wireless systems testing technology. The seminar included group delay measurements on challenging DUTS as frequency converters and satellites, mm-Wave Channel Sounding for 5G and differential S-parameter measurements up to 110 GHz. Furthermore there was a special decorated exhibition booth at the Jingling Hotel, where the award ceremony and the seminar took place. More than hundred customers joined the seminar and visited the booth.
