Based in our North America headquarters in Columbia, MD, the Director of Finance will lead a team of 20+ accounting, finance and tax professionals. Depending on experience, the Director of Finance may also take on responsibility for the order management team. The ideal candidate will have diverse accounting operations, financial reporting (audit, controlling, budgeting, reporting), tax (sales, income, transfer pricing, etc.), and SAP knowledge. Experience integrating with SAP ERP (FI/CO/SD) and experience in business process optimization (LEAN, process excellence) are also key requirements that affect the scope of the position.

Director of Finance

Your tasks:
  • Ensure accurate financial and management reporting and continuously enhance the controls environment.
  • Develop the underlying systems and processes that enable monthly and annual reporting: budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis
  • Understand the end to end processes and work to optimize business processes and IT systems to enable more efficient and accurate operations.
  • Integrate business and financial reporting teams to improve mutual understanding and informed decision making
  • Develop management team through skills development (technical, process, IT, or leadership), rotation programs, and talent strategy implementation
  • Manage all business processes associated with quote to cash in a subsidiary environment
  • Lead the team on their LEAN journey to achieve best in class performance through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to the overall architecture of the financial reporting and IT development processes in the company
  • Optimize all tax results
  • Influencing change both in local business teams, and in headquarter finance and accounting functions
Your qualifications:
  • Extensive years of finance experience, with at least 7 years in a leadership role, preferably with some time in a sales subsidiary at a technology company
  • Diverse exposure to accounting operations (A/R, A/P, payroll), financial and management reporting (budgeting, management reports, financial reports, audit), and business process optimization (LEAN, process excellence, and controls).
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Master’s degree in accounting or business administration preferred.
  • CPA preferred
  • SAP experience in FI/CO/SD preferred
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally. Travel may be up to 10% with a focus on Munich, Germany.
