Our Business Development Manager may be based anywhere in the US although a Detroit home base is preferred.


Business Development Manager - Automotive RADAR

Your tasks:
  • Create new business opportunities while expanding the Rohde & Schwarz brand awareness in the automotive market segment.
  • Primary objective is to promote the Rohde & Schwarz automotive RADAR test equipment portfolio with OEMs, Tier1s and chip manufacturers.
  • Effectively demonstrate and communicate how all Rohde & Schwarz products can best solve the automotive customer’s measurement problem.
  • Work closely with the other members of the automotive business development team; sharing information and developing a complete understanding of the automotive ecosystem.
  • Grow R&S market share - develop and manage sales funnel/ forecast as part of the sales process.
  • Provide input and feedback and implement growth activities in close alignment with the worldwide Market Segment Management, Product Marketing, R&D, and Service organizations
  • Develop a business plan that outlines the automotive radar industry and recommends an approach to best address this market segment.
  • Coordinate a diverse and decentralized team of Account Managers and Application Engineers in an effort to identify and leverage from industry interdependencies and win key opportunities
  • Single point of contact for Account Managers, worldwide Market Segment Management, Product Marketing, R&D, Marketing and R&S Executive Management on project status and next steps.
Your qualifications:
  • BSEE (or equivalent) – Strong RF and automotive radar test equipment background preferred.
  • Management experience and demonstrated track record of sales leadership preferred.
  • An in-depth understanding of RF and automotive radar technology with the ability to effectively dialogue with customers on both the technical and business level.
  • Commensurate automotive radar sales experience with a solid understanding of current technologies and industry interdependencies within the automotive supply chain.
  • The ideal candidates will have a passion for selling in close cooperation with local account managers and application engineers, an intense focus on customer service, and an overwhelming desire to succeed.
  • An established and extensive network within the automotive radar industry and overall automotive community.
  • The ability and willingness to travel up to 50% both nationally and internationally.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer interface skills
